When it comes to conserving the energy and the resources in the planet, it all starts with someone as an individual. I am saying this because when it comes to the part of conservation of energy, people point fingers at each other and what they do not understand is that change starts with us. I am saying this because my mother and her friends started this to encourage other people to follow suit. They were activists and their latest project was the conservation of energy in the homes. They even lobbied for grants energy efficient homes. This was supposed to work like this: the home that would have used the best method to conserve energy would get the grant. This was the best approach they would have ever used because many people changed the way they used energy so just they can get the grant. There are those who used solar panels instead of electricity and others went as far as getting wind turbines. This approach was of positive reinforcement. The grant was the major reinforcer and the competition was the one thing that was fueling them. |

I noticed a few weeks ago that my colleague at work was some how unhappy. We were not so close then, so I could not have asked what the matter was at once. But three days later, she was acting strange. I decided to ask her after work so I invited her out for coffee. When we were relaxed a bit I asked what the matter was with her. She told me how it was difficult coping with all her house bills and taking care of her disabled son. She was not alone in this because the cost of living had unusually gone up and everyone was complaining. What she needed is some benefits for her son's needs. I told her of the disability benefit from the government's benefits agency. She had never heard of it, so I told her what there was to know about the benefits. I even told her that she could apply for the benefits online so that she would not have to miss work. Today, when I see her smile, I thank God I was able to help her. |

Consumers and business people are the ones who help in making the economy of that country become even better. Consumers are always prone to unfair purchases that leave them really irritated at the end of the day. There are so many times that they have taken advantage of the gullibility of the consumers, and what people do not know is that they go through the same things with their fellow business people, in mostly very unhealthy and unfair competition. I recently got into a new job as a resource manager in one of the hotels in our city. They found me fitting for the job considering my on the job training in Singapore for quite a while. I was well trained on how to operate employees equally, taking into consideration the most important things that should go into their employment. When I started to work in the hotel, the owner asked my opinion regarding their employees’ desire for unemployment benefits payment request. Since the hotel has been operating for the past 54 years, most of the employees have aged together with their work. One important thing that should be reflect on in handling workers is to put in mind on how they have served you for years and how they will retire. Since there has been no concrete flow of how to manage such system, it is highly advisable to consider giving employees the benefits that they deserve. This new job will surely be a big challenge for me not only because I am new to the company but for the reason that there are a lot of adjustments to do. Whatever it has to take me, I should always be fair to any kind of employed workers in the hotel so that you can also get a positive working feedback from them for the hotel. |

My young brother wants a car and my father does not want to buy him a new car. So he told him to look for a second hand car that was very affordable. He always asked me for help because he knew that when I helped he never got in to trouble and he also never got conned. So I told him that the first step would be to go to the consumer care center and asked them what we should do. They told us that it was wise of us to go ask them for advice. They told us to buy the car from a dealership that is accredited because if there was anything extremely wrong with the car, then they would get a replacement fast. They told us that before we sealed the deal, we should get a professional mechanic to check up the car. They told us not to go to a mechanic that the dealership recommended, this was because the result would be biased and if we found a problems there after then they would not be liable because according to them, we got the car checked. |

Creation of job opportunities was a promise the government made to its citizens after the economic recession. There were so many job seekers then and something had to be done in order to ensure that each of them had a job at the end of it all. What the government did was to establish some projects like the community projects through the councils, and these projects took some of the unemployed. Also, the government started some parastatals and in turn these parastatals employed some job seekers. The residents of a certain town were required to not only look within their towns for employments but in other towns as well, for instance jobs in cannock area were not only meant for the residents of the town, but to other residents of other towns as well. Companies too were required to employ freely without considering such things as where someone lived or the universities they attended. Three years down the line, we can see the fruits of the efforts that the government put that time. The number of job seekers has tremendously gone down, and we are working in the towns where we chose. |

My baby brother has been saving up to buy a computer and when he finally saved the required amount, he went and bought it. He made sure that he had bought it at a store that had good reputation. He also made sure that the warranty of the computer was legit and he understood the terms of returning the computer. When he got home, he used the manual to operate it. He started of by charging the laptop be for he started setting everything up. He left it on the charger for thirty minutes and when he came back to check up in the progress, it was not charged yet. He thought that he had not turned on the switch on, or maybe he had plugged it in wrongly but everything was charged in okay. So he called me really distressed and I told him that I would take him to the store the next morning. I called the consumer direct helpline to inquire if my brother will get another replacement or money back.They said if the laptop was still new and it had a problem that soon, then he was entitled for a replacement immediately because he did not even have it charged to get time to mess it up himself. |

My best friend is considering to get a loan to finish up a project that she had started years ago. She has not been able to finish the project because of the financial requirements, that was why she is looking into getting a loan. Due to the many cases we hear involving credit companies and their debtors, she is too afraid to even get into a contract with either of these companies. She does not want to lose so much in case she is unable to meet the end of her bargain. We sought the help of a legal advisor and we were told that credit companies are guarded by consumer rights act 1974. They will not harass a debtor in case of a bleach of a contract. As long as there is a valid reason why one was not able to pay the loan, and they can prove that reason, then they will have an added time. This was better news for my friend. She is now sure that she wants to take a loan, and she has already identified a credit company. |

Single parenthood is the most challenging and demanding task that i can never advice someone to take. In fact if you are a single parent and at the same time you are working then it becomes very hard for you to meet the ends the way you want to. Most of the parents became mothers when they were still at school so this means that they dropped out of school so that they can play the role of being a parent to the child. It comes a time when the mother wants to go back to school but then it becomes a challenge to her cause she is unable to. She becomes confused whether to attend to her child , go to work or go back to school. What challenges them most is the fact that they do not have enough funds to cater for their needs that they need. Being old and with no person to look after you means that you have a big problem because you can not fend for yourself. This is the time when you have no strength at all to look after yourself and at times you can not do the basics like preparing a meal for yourself, bathing and doing other simple tasks. It is for this reason that you should have someone to look for you so that you can spend the rest of your days with some comfort.
